So what exactly is a high yield saving account? A high yield saving account is a deposit account opened at the bank of your choice where the money you deposit earns greater than average interest.

A number of U.S. banks offer a high yield saving account where some offer a high yield saving account boasting no fees and no minimum balance.

InterestPlus Online Savings by Capital One at 1.35%APY plus 10% quarterly bonus

June 2nd, 2010 by hysa | No Comments | Filed in Savings Account

There is a great offer made by Capital One that is quite tempting considering the low savings account rates in the financial market today. If you want to consider parking your money with Capital One, go through the bank’s InterestPlus Online Savings where there is a great opportunity for you to earn 1.35%APY plus a 10% quarterly bonus on interest earned on qualifying accounts. Though an APY of 1.35% is still low compared to Capital One online savings account rate a year ago, the additional 10% quarterly bonus is already something to think about.

Capital One’s InterestPlus Online Savings is an online savings account that gives you 1.35%APY when you have $2,500 or more in your account. In addition, you will get an extra 10% quarterly bonus on your interest earned. The catch however is that you must keep a balance of at least $15,000 in your savings account each month or use a Capital One credit card at least once a month to qualify.

The balance requirement is ideal for those searching for higher interest rates on savings accounts and who have lots of funds to stash away but for a regular guy this could only be wishful saving.

Capital One also offers to its clients free online transfers to and from your existing external bank accounts with no fees.  A federally insured bank to at least $250,000 per depositor, Capital One is one of the top national banks.
