Best Interest Bearing Checking Accounts November 2011

There are many checking account promotions going on at this time. Some banks offer sweeteners like cash bonus and gift items. But, while these checking account promotions are good, some of these checking accounts do not offer any interest to checking account holders. It is like a totally free checking account wherein you only get to enjoy the free use of the checking account, but with no interest at all.

If you are up to letting your money work for you then it is best to look around for interest bearing checking accounts. There are many banks offering interest bearing checking accounts, but it is up to you to look for it.

Here are the banks and credit unions offering checking accounts that bears interest of over 1.00%APY for November 2011. Check them out and compare which checking account is best for you.

1. Provident Credit Union Super Reward Checking at 2.26%APY. Provident Credit Union only requires $25 minimum to open the checking account and there is no monthly fee.

2. Baxter Credit Union Power Checking at 2.00%APY.  No minimum is required to open and there is no monthly fee.

3. Bank of Internet USA Rewards Checking at 1.25%APY. $100 minimum is required by Bank of Internet USA but there is no monthly fee.

4. Alliant Credit Union Free High Rate Option at 1.10%APY. There is no minimum and no monthly fee for this checking account.

5. Incredible Bank Incredible Checking at 1.06%APY. Incredible Bank requires the highest minimum amount of $1,000 to open the checking account and there is a monthly fee of $15, which may be waived if you meet certain requirements by the bank.

Charter One $240 checking account promotion, October 2011

If you are looking for a checking account promotion that offers cash rewards then perhaps you should take a look at Charter One.

Charter one is offering customers the opportunity to get as much as $240 in total cash rewards upon meeting the bank’s requirements.

While other checking account promotions offer gift rewards, Charter One is offering cash rewards. You can get up to $240 in total cash rewards after you are found qualified. Some banks, like Bank of America, is offering as much as $500 in cash rewards for its merchant services promotion and $50 for its checking account promotion. So, thus it pay to switch?

Here is how Charter One will pay you when you sign up for a checking account with them:

  1. Open your first Charter One personal checking account between October 1, 2011 through October 28, 2011 with a deposit of $100 and you will receive $40;

Checking account promotions January 2010

Here are some of the checking account promotions offered by banks in January 2010. Take a look at each of them and see if any interests you.

  • Chase Bank. The bank offers an eBonus Certificate of up to 25,000 bonus miles when you open a new Chase Checking account, set up a direct deposit and make a qualifying purchase with your new Chase Continental Airlines Preferred Debit Card. Offer expires March 31, 2010.
  • BBVA Compass.  There is a potential for you to earn up to $150. To get the first $75 bonus, all you need to do is: a) open a new BBVA Compass checking account online before its expiration date, which is February 28, 2010, b) sign up for online bill pay, c) pay at least five bills online every 30 days. You’ll get $25 for each month for a total of $75. To get the second $75 reward, you must do 1) open a new BBVA Compass checking account online by February 28, 2010 and sign up for payroll direct deposit, get the first payroll direct deposit within 30 days after account opening and you’ll get another $75 bonus. Note that this offer is not available in the branch office of the bank as this is an online exclusive offer. In addition, BBVA Compass has also refer a friend bonus for you and your friend.  $25 for you and $25 for your friend. You have to get your unique customer referral number from any BBVA Compass branch or by calling the bank’s 1-800 number.

Get $101 with a new checking account from Sterling Savings Bank

Get $101 bank bonus when you open a new checking account at Sterling Savings Bank. You must meet at least 3 of the 4 requirements required by the bank in order for you to receive the $101 bank bonus.

The 4 requirements are:

  1. Enrollment in Free Bill Pay;
  2. Enrollment in the bank’s online statements;
  3. A minimum of one (1) incoming direct deposit or ACH debit on your checking account within 90 days of account opening; and
  4. Use your Check Card for a minimum of 3 times within the first 90 days of account opening.

The new account will be reviewed three full calendar months after which a $101 bank bonus will be credited to your checking account within the four calendar months of account opening  upon meeting at least 3 usage requirements.

This checking account promotion was in effect since December 4, 2008 but is subject to change without notice. Checking account promotion is limited to one or per new customer.
