EverBank Money Market Account at 3.01%APY

EverBank is offering a Yield Pledge Money Market Account with a 3 month bonus rate of 3.01%.  The money market account rate is current as of June 5, 2009 but may change at any time. Minimum deposit required to open the Yield Pledge Money Market Account is $1,500 however you must maintain a monthly balance of at least $5,000 otherwise if you fall below this amount, you will be applied a monthly fee of $8.95.

The 3 month bonus rate of 3.01%  applies to the first $50,000 on deposit for the first three months after account opening and is available to first time EverBank account holders only. During the first three months, balances over $50,001 will earn the ongoing or current rate of 1.64%. After 3 months, balances left in the account will earn the ongoing rate of 1.64%.

There is a limit of only one per household to avail of this offer.

Urban Trust Bank Money Market Rate at 2.75%APY

Urban Trust Bank is running a money market special offer rate at 2.75%APY for a limited time only. The bank requires an opening deposit of at least $1,000 and to obtain the APY.

Earnings may be reduced with fees and penalties but these can be avoided by maintaining a balance of $5,000 and by not making over 6 transactions per month. If balance falls below $5,000, the bank will charge a $20 monthly fee. Plus $5 fee per transaction after the first 6 transactions.

AmTrust Bank Money Market Rate at 2.25%APY

A money market account is another way of getting a safe return on your money aside from certificate of deposits and high yield savings accounts. Rates however have dried up and money market rates are no exception. However there are still banks that offer customers better money market rates.

For example, AmTrust Bank is offering its Premium e-Money Market Account at a very competitive rate of 2.25%APY. You must however maintain a balance between $10,000 to $149,999 to obtain the offered APY. Customers can start with a minimum of $500 to open the money market account which must be new money or funds from an existing maturing AmTrust certificate of deposit.

The Premium e-Money Market Account rate is accurate as of May 14, 2009 but may change any time without further notice.

Update June 20, 2009: AmTrust Premium e-Money Market Account rate is down by 0.25%APY. The money market account rate is now 2.00%APY. It was previously 2.25% when offered in May.

Tioga State Bank High Yield Money Market Account

Tioga State Bank is promoting its high yield money market investment account at a rate of 2.75%APY. The 2.75%APY however applies only to balances over $250,000. Balances below this amount but not lower than $100,000 earn 2.15%APY. Still balances of between $25,000 to $100,000 will earn .50%APY.

The bank requires customers interested in this money market investment account to deposit a minimum of $100,000 and must maintain an average daily balance of $25,000 to avoid paying the $25 monthly service charge.

APY is accurate as of 4/14/09 and may change at any time.
